When you’ve said it all
Seen it all
And much in between
Uganda raises your understanding
How amazing and devastating life can be

Vistas beyond the minds ability to comprehend
Beauty with a depth exceeding 3-D
Up close and personal
Human suffering and need
How Lord can I minister to the heartache around me?

Explicit evil calling
Touching beauty’s hands
Ripping off the hearts of humans
Oh Lord it’s so hard to understand
Tell me what you can

Jesus died for sinners
I’m at the head of the line
He’s called me to be His hands and feet
Not to define nor opine
Life is life and death is not final for me and you

Helpless as it seems I am
I bring water and a listening ear
I will tell your story for all to hear
Bringing new resources
Jesus I am here

My heart is right oh Lord
My heart is right
I have an excitement in my soul
This journey is meant to be

I’ve thought it through
I’ve prayed it through
Prepared, details
All I’ve done points to success

I don’t know
What I don’t know
But I’m ready to learn
Fear has no place in my heart

Journey proud today
I’m on the way
Obstacles rearing their head
You oh Lord have ordained my trip

I pray You remove all stops
No more gotchas
Be still my heart
Lord prepare me

I am yours
Fill my heart with YOUR thoughts
Make me a usable vessel
Equip me with eyes to see

Your Word oh Lord guides me
It speaks life, discovery, strength
Be my guide as I go
You Lord are my protection.

Carolyn Greer Heard – 2/14/16

Devoted-to Jesus-to her family
Loving daughter, mother, grandmother
Carolyn was the focus of her husband
She focused her life on him- a great combination

Alive to life – excitement and joy
A lifelong encourager
Carolyn was strong in her faith
She stood with others in their time of need

Capable, insightful, determined
Fairness was important to her
She cared for others and did something about it
Constantly giving of herself

Carolyn had lifelong friends
She faced significant heartbreak
She never looked back
Her life, her mind was focused on Christ

She sought to understand and be understood in life
Carolyn never voiced platitudes
She went out and found out and knew what she believed
Her actions were always courageous and bold

Curious, kind and gentle
A person with self-respect and the bearer of great responsibility
Stable, successful and trustworthy
We will see her again, today we mourn our loss of her

Seeking, knowing, capable
Willing to assert courage and character to power through dark nights
Intellect, even genius sets apart, seldom combined with common sense, except in you
Few can see what you see or know what you know
Intuition and insight constantly being honed

A bright vision, in the depths of your heart
At times unwilling to announce what you are called to do
So that others will not be overwhelmed
You seek to pass as a humble servant: helping, listening, honoring
Logical, sensitive-the future unrolls day by day

You challenge life itself, demanding more for the voiceless
Praying for the despairing, equipping the untrained
Sharing your wisdom, encouraging where there is only desperation
You’ve chosen a hard, harsh road to walk
Many days will be lonely, the Lord stands with you

There are no flighty days with you
Everyday you arise to fight the darkness
The Evil One notices you and attacks full bore
You defy the odds, letting the Lord fight the battle
Faith, loyalty and surrender accomplish what human wisdom cannot

A fifty-year horizon
You’re in for the long haul
You’ll never quit, disappointment spurs your creativity
Your heart, your soul stands seven feet tall
Worthy of the best, willing to serve your call, Jesus your all

A Tribute to Your Life: Your Commitment: Your Honor
Clay Corvin March 10, 2016

Like a gentle breeze you enter
Smiling, beautiful and a gentle face
Confident, courageous, adventurous
And much more

You are a servant of the Lord High God
Jesus your Master, elder brother, guide
Your presence encourages those you are with
Jesus life lives in you, His love shines through you

Your competency precedes you
It is simply you, what you have done and are doing
Faith underscores all that you do
It surrounds you, Faith is a strength

Mercy is an abiding gift Christ has given you
People take to you immediately
They feel your kindnesses
They know your genuine love for them

Friendships last with you
People never walk away; they need someone like you
You are the bright light, the warm soul
You calm the minds and hearts of your friends

Peace is your present
It is a gift from God and authenticates the presence of Jesus
You have it, you give it
People love it and seek to be with you

Home is far away and yet you are able to make yourself at home
Family misses you and you miss them but Jesus fills your heart
Life is fast, always hard, loneliness seeks to sidetrack you
Yet you refuse to let loneliness win, Jesus is in control

We are blessed that you are here
You will bless so many by your training
We will stand with you
The Lord loves you and us through you

Totally completely sold out to Jesus
The Lord knows her name
A life surrendered, no care for fame

Friendship treasured
Church her center-commitment
Friends fill her life

A committed journey
Godly fear
Charity, honor, faithfulness

Kind to everyone
Helping them fight their battle
Little regard for the price she pays

Cloaked in purity
Walking with Jesus
Her actions are her words

She does not lay up treasures for herself
Humility her way
Yet bold as a lion

When she arrives the light has come
Virtue, love and surrender to the Lord
Underscore her righteous soul

Filled with common sense
Common honesty her strength
A life of decency-she is the Lord’s servant

You are great where you are not where you will be in ten years
Your beauty enhanced by your soul
Jesus has a hold on you-You have a hold on us

We rejoice for you-praise honor and glory to the Lord
We pray for you-life is hard and everyone has their turn
We treasure you-we love you-thank you for being our friend

Hard words.  Destroyed lives.
Always win their way
Breaking off our resolutions, destroying new days
Life a play with endless scenes
We give up to emotions that drag us down, letting them own us
There’s never an easy way to deal with pain
Addictions are many, each one bold
We sit defenseless with no place to hold
We scream in our hearts for forgiveness, going forth to sin again
What is it about us that sins so boldly?
Why can’t I be like others?
Sin has a crimson stain, scarring and masquerading, It has a hold on me
Others are in the same boat, they just lie better than you
There is no solution but Jesus, hold on He says, He will make all things new
Get 3×5 cards, record a new Scripture in your own handwriting each day
Every hour re-read todays Word, do it, do it, do it
The Word and the Holy Spirit will begin their time in your spiritual life
Slowly ever slowly your willingness to give up that addiction will grow
New life will build in you, a year down the road you will see where you are
A long way from hell, Satan decapitated, your faith bold, your heart warm and powerful
No longer in chains of bondage, no more distraught nights and days
Clearly your life will show what you will know – Jesus is Lord, He is Lord of all things and you

GOD AT WORK (EPH 1:13-14)

God at work, His universe, His laws
Unchangeable, immutable, before creation
The Father chose you, Christ died for you
Lavishing grace upon grace, the Holy Spirit moves upon you
But you must choose, you must receive, you must repent

You have heard the truth, not philosophy, not attitude
Jesus came into this world, to show His love, to live a perfect life
Jesus is God’s truth, He died on the cross to pay your price for sin
The power of God, raised Him from the dead, His love declared for eternity
His love gives you a new heart, a new life, eternally adopted into the Father’s household

You were a murderer at heart, everyone is dead in their trespasses and sin
No one can solve their sin problem, we need more than a little cleaning up
We need Jesus, His free gift of eternal life provides forgiveness and life
Now in Christ we are alive, evil can no longer destroy us, sin bondage broken
Jesus pardons us, He gives us liberty and freedom, salvation in Him

Do you believe? Belief in Christ is the requirement
You must believe for yourself, I cannot do it for you
Belief changes you, it conforms you to God’s law, His reality
Jesus is looking for you, He is seeking you to give you life and light for living
What will you do? Have you believed? When you believe you are immediately in God’s family

God declares we belong to Him by Word-the Holy Spirit brings this Word to life
We were bought with a price, that price was Jesus and His sacrifice
The Holy Spirit is the witness of God’s ownership – He seals our relationship in Christ
Inheritance guaranteed, not based on us, God will not disown us
Jesus blood and sacrifice, saves a wretch like me, like us

Wife, mother, grandmother

Servant, minister, life scholar

Learning, serving, faithful

Never away from Jesus, every step she took praised Him

Always helping, listening, caring

Mary’s heart was dedicated to the Lord

Crystal clear in her life journey – she would follow the Lord

A long obedience to the Father as a minister and a minister’s wife

She knew what was required of her

No complaining, she did it and did it every single day

Mary’s commitment included every aspect of her life

She lived what she believed

She cared for others as Jesus cared for her

Wisdom, mercy, grace and a willingness to change

Jesus was her guide, God was her partner

Mary spent her life devoted to talking to the Lord

Prayer was as much a part of her life as breathing

She cultivated this habit of prayer

When life happened Mary was praying

Praying that God’s will be done, that Jesus be glorified

What a life

Her family, her ministry, her work

Given to the Lord, dedicated to His honor

Mary impacted everyone she knew-this was her life

She knew where she was going – proclaiming Christ to her last breath
